Mental health deserves the same attention as physical health. Yet people can spend months struggling with anxiety, low mood, trauma, burnout or other difficulties before telling anyone what they are experiencing.
World Mental Health Day encourages more open conversations about mental wellbeing and mental illness. It is also a reminder that support does not have to wait until a situation becomes a crisis.
A conversation with someone you trust can be a valuable first step. Professional support may also be appropriate when symptoms persist, interfere with everyday life or become difficult to manage.
