In the months leading up to the Hospital Association of South Africa Quality Summit 2023, alongside the HASA plenary conference, we invited abstracts in value-based care, clinical best practices, and quality improvement projects.
Dozens of entries were whittled down to ten by a scientific panel comprising Bonginkosi Shongwe from the Gauteng Department of Health, Winnie Moleko from the Office of Healthcare Standards Compliance, and Professor Mavis Mulaudzi from the University of Pretoria.
The ten shortlisted entrants presented their entries (topics in brackets) to a packed hall at the Summit, with the following emerging as award winners, pictured with HASA Deputy Chair, Gale Shabangu:
