Disambiguating the NHI Debate: Two Recommended Articles

Originally published in Spotlight by Bernard Mutsago and Haseen Majid, this article argues: “A patient-centred health system will remain an illusion under the NHI unless the public health system is ramped up to better serve users and a clear path is outlined for public-private partnerships.” The article is headlined “Patient-centred Healthcare: The NHI Revolution You Deserve.”

Another extremely insightful article was penned by Khaya Sithole and published in Business Day under the headline, “Wrangling over NHI has resulted in another fine mess.”

Neither article will answer all the questions regarding the NHI, but they are worthwhile insights into the challenge of reforming healthcare.
