At any given time there are bound to be several reports into various aspects of healthcare floating around. There are moments however, when a few really notable reports surface that need to be looked at carefully. Here are a few:
Mirror, Mirror 2017: International Comparison Reflects Flaws and Opportunities for Better U.S. Health Care by Eric C. Schneider, Dana O. Sarnak, David Squires, Arnav Shah, and Michelle M. Doty is an interactive comparison of health systems that uses a mountain of data and a set of values to arrive at the strengths and weaknesses of each.
The EY Future of Health Survey 2018 captures the views of “2,455 US consumers, 152 physicians, and 195 executives to understand their perceptions about how digital technologies will improve our overall health and to learn more about the strategic initiatives they are undertaking, both today and in the future to accelerate future organizational growth.”
And locally, the Treatment Action Campaign (TAC) notes has released “a series of reports in the provinces in which we work that highlight the state of public healthcare services. Each TAC branch has adopted a primary healthcare facility local to them and have been monitoring the state of services at these facilities since November 2017. The results highlight a number of critical concerns with regard to the state of services at clinics and community healthcare centres.
