An NHI News Catch-Up, Post-SONA

An awful lot has been said and written about the National Health Insurance Act, universal health coverage, and healthcare sector reform, over the last two weeks or so. Most of the news has been driven by an agreement (or not) reached in the Government of National Unity, the President’s assertion that preparatory work would continue on the Act despite his invitation to stakeholders to submit proposals to address the many issues people have with the Act as it stands, one such proposal from a coalition of over twenty healthcare professional associations, the Minister’ of Health’s statement that despite any challenges and issues, the Act would be implemented.
