Private hospitals’ contribution to the South African economy (2016/2017)

Together, aside from providing world-class care to consumers, HASA members make a significant contribution to the development and economic health of South Africa through job creation, skills development, taxes, procurement and social investments. Private hospitals play a particularly important role in attracting skilled workers and inward investment through their quality of care and so contribute to the attractiveness of South Africa as an investment destination. In addition, some member groups are operating internationally and act as brand ambassadors for South Africa.
