Accreditation of Healthcare Providers

This note is the first in a two-part series looking at the important issue of accreditation. It is generally understood in healthcare reform that accreditation serves in setting quality standards and uniformity in a health system − “[it] is the most commonly used external mechanism for standards-based quality improvement in healthcare.”
